About This Content "Oh lovely. Bit of rain to really make the journey special.” Something is not right in the town of Stromdorf, the new DLC for Vermintide. A courier carrying important news has disappeared, and the Skaven seem once again to be plotting something sinister.Make your way across the roaming hills outside of Stromdorf in The Courier, in search of the missing courier and the information he carries. Continue your journey in Reaching Out by venturing in to Stromdorf, a city with a history of fantastically brewed beer and never-ending rain, and take the Skaven head-on. In this DLC, you will also get the Executioner’s Sword, a mighty two-handed sword for Markus Kruber to slice off multiple skulls at once with. Whatever foul deeds the Skaven are planning, it is up to our heroes to stop them!Key Features:New Map: The Courier - Somewhere among these beautiful green hills is the missing courier, and hopefully our heroes aren’t too late New Map: Reaching Out - The heavens are constantly stormy over the town of Stromdorf, but that doesn’t stop our heroes from treading through the muddy streets to battle the Skaven up closeNew Weapon: Executioner’s Sword - Markus Kruber is eager to wield this massive two-handed sword that can behead multiple Skaven at once. I wouldn't bother purchasing this DLC unless you already have all of the others and are the person who hosts games for your group of friends.Pros:- The maps are pretty.Cons:- If you play with any bots, the new maps are downright broken. Bots frequently get stuck, path poorly, fall to their death, or stand around and watch you die. They're also largely incapable of handling the mechanics of the boss fight.- The voice acting and writing has gone a tad off the rails. Most notably, Lohner's accent is distractingly different (the inn-keeper and map narrator). Some of Kerillian's lines also sound like she's using a slightly different accent, but it's subtle enough that I probably wouldn't be bothered were it not for Lohner. One of Kruber's new snippets of dialogue suggests he can read, even though he makes it clear in vanilla that he is quite illiterate (which makes more sense, given he was an uneducated farmboy turned enlisted man in a medieval setting). The writing and voice acting in this game has actually been one of my favorite parts, so it saddens me to see its quality decline in any way.- The level design for the new maps is pretty poor. They rely VERY heavily on invisible walls to pen you in. All of the other outdoor maps in the game, whether vanilla or DLC, just do a much better job of incorporating the map boundaries into the visual design of the level. I like that they're attempting to mix things up with the boss fight. It's just unfortunate that the fight isn't that interesting or difficult (unless you play with bots, in which case you'll probably be soloing the encounter).. The maps are great. Can't say anything about the sword since I don't have it and I'll never get it because there's an incalculably small chance for the RGN loot table to both have the item AND land on it. Just like I have none of the special weapons from any of the other DLC's, despite playing them to death WITH the relevant character trinkets. Getting all the tokens and grims doesn't increase your chances either, six times I've had my roll skip over the special weapons because my group collected one dice or tome too many, incredibly demotivating. I REALLY wish there was an option to choose from all the awards you qualify for with your roll, rather than simply get one at random. That way you would be able to pick one you actually want, even if it's an inferior choice. So all-in-all that's 7€ for nothing but two maps. But make no mistake, they are really, REALLY nice maps. I've had a great time when them so far and found them both beautifully hand-crafted and challenging to navigate in a good way (with many alternate paths to choose from). Although as it stands, I do feel like I'd rather pay more and get at least four or five new maps per DLC, than pay less and get very little. Because let's be honest, if fatshark keeps cutting one map and one weapon with each DLC, the next will be just one map and nothing else for 5€. Not sure how I'd feel about that, this is already skirting it a bit as it is. Had both Kruber and Sienna had gotten a weapon, that'd have been perfect for the price tag in my opinion.. What can I say? Fine craftsmanship as always. Both maps are beautiful and well done, big and fun. And now we have actual boss fight.Weapon is headshot-focused, so it's should be good in pro hands, not some nube-tube.Keep it up, FS, you guys know we always want more.. Love Vermintide (played it for over 100 hours) but the price for 2 mediocre maps is just wrong. I picked it up on summer sale 15% off and I still feel cheated. This DLC shouldn't cost more than $4 regular price.. didnt get the new weapon yet, but the 2 levels are amazingly well done. Where the last DLC, Karak Azgaraz, battered players with snow as they explored a Dwarfen fortress high in the Grey Mountains, the new adventure will introduce another form of precipitation. The forecast is a 100% chance of rain as you journey to the small market town of Stromdorf and the surrounding hills, a “wet and wild” area of the Old World just to the north of Ubersreik, Vermintide’s main setting. A courier carrying important information has gone missing and naturally the Skaven are involved and up to no good, so off you go to stop them.It looks like Stromdorf is a bit slimmer than Karak Azgaraz, adding two new levels where the last DLC added three, and one new weapon (a big sword for Markus Kruber) instead of two.I got it on sale and got my money's worth out of it already. New Sword for Kruber is amazing !Need a Halberd / Asrai Speer next, pls !!! Best dlc in order for me by a mile 1. Karak Azgaraz2. Castle Drachenfels3. StromdorfBest dlc weapons in order for me1. Executioner’s Sword !2. Volley Crossbow !3. Glaive / Falchion / Pick ...(they are all fantastic n fun to use !)It's your call what you buy or don't, I buy this stuff to support the game.Besides of this you can always join other people hosting the dlc maps without paying anything !. Certainly a welcome addition to this amazing game, but it still leaves me wanting for more impactful game mechanics, enemies, and variations that'll help keep the game fresh past level 30. This certainly helps.. While a smaller expansion than the previous paid-DLC's Stromdorf is still a welcomed add on.. Not recommended, at least for this price. Two maps, nice but not overwhelming. One nice bossfight though. Buy it when it's reduced. (Or buy the Karak DLC, you get more bang for your buck.). Yet another great map dlc from the team, only 2 maps this time but people got what they asked for a Boss fight on 'Reaching out'. One new weapon for Krubsie he needed something specialk he got an Executioner sword that seperates rat head from body. Courier is a sweet map with some great touches in ambient surroundings. I have yet to buy a DLC I didn't like
